It is 11 June 1685. King Charles II is dead, and his son James, the Duke of Monmouth, has landed at Lyme with a small force of about 300 men to take the crown from his uncle, King James II.
This is a perilous undertaking. What should he do next? Wander the country seeking recruits? Stay in one place and rally support against attack? Or make a dash for London?
Friends and enemies await — some will join the cause, others will try to bring it to a bloody end. Choose your battles carefully; do not fight those who may yet join you, and perhaps try to win over a few royal commanders, like his old comrade John Churchill.
How to play
March to a new location: select a location on the map and press March (about 12 miles per day).
Stay and rally: press Stay to remain in place and gather recruits.
Reinforce: press Fortify to strengthen defences.
Other decisions will appear as you play — you will be prompted when they arise.
Win: arrive in London uncontested. Lose: if your army is destroyed.
Note: works on mobile, but is better on larger screens.
